Cherry Buckwell PhD Student

Cherry Buckwell is a PhD student seeking to understand how the conditions for sustainable community and organisational behaviour change are created.

Cherry formally worked as a critical care nurse in the NHS before moving into medical education as a lecturer specialising in the development of interprofessional experiential teaching. This role focused on developing learning techniques that offer an insight into how team dynamics affect clinical outcomes.

She began a PhD at the European Centre in 2011 under the supervision of Dr Katrina Wyatt, Dr Robin Durie and Professor Lora Fleming. The study uses an interdisciplinary approach that draws on the disciplines of politics, sociology and medicine.

Outside of this research Cherry is interested in the interdependency of systems, such as food, economics and political systems and the ethical implications that inter-connectivity has on individuals and society.
