Climate change adaptation

The Centre is considering the health impacts of climate change in BASE – the Bottom-Up Climate Adaptation Strategies Towards a Sustainable Europe project.

This major European Commission FP7 funded study on climate change adaptation is aiming to bring together “top-down” models of climate change and economic impacts with “bottom-up” case studies of adaptation at local, regional and national levels.

Dr Tim Taylor is responsible for assisting in the integration of the health sector in the top-down modelling – working with the Basque Centre for Climate Change and CMCC. He is also assisting in the development of “adaptation pathways” in the context of health in Europe.

A short video on the project is available here

Dr Sahran Higgins, Dr Ben Wheeler and Dr Tim Taylor are working on case studies on climate impacts in Cornwall and on the mental health impacts of climate change in England
