Princess Kisi is a PhD student researching the epidemiology of thunderstorm asthma in the UK under climate change scenarios.

Funded by a Medical Research Council grant via the GW4 Doctoral Training Partnership, her project will combine systematic evidence reviews, secondary data analysis, and high-resolution climate modelling to better understand links between thunderstorms, environmental exposures, and asthma risks.

Princess will also work closely with the Net+ Centre and the UK Health Security Agency.

Her broader interests include epidemiology, air pollution toxicology, and respiratory health. She holds a BSc in Biological Sciences and an MSc in Toxicology, where she investigated PM2.5 toxicity and links to COVID-19 morbidity under the supervision of Dr Karen Exley (UKHSA, AQPH).

Prior to her PhD, Princess spent three years working in regulatory toxicology across the pesticide and medical device sectors, before joining UKHSA as an environmental public health scientist specialising in air pollution toxicology.
