Lucia is a graduate research assistant working on several projects, including SenseWell (EPSRC-funded) and CommunitySense (SPF-funded), which explore the feasibility of indoor environment sensor systems to enhance independent living. Lucia is also contributing to a project investigating the barriers to engaging in entrepreneurship for low-income households in Cornwall, and provides research support to businesses as part of the Evolve Futures In Residence Scheme.
Lucia has a BMus in Music from McGill University, a BA in Psychology with a minor in Anthropology from the University of Connecticut, and an MSc in Clinical Psychology & Mental Health from Swansea University. Prior to joining ECEHH, Lucia worked as a research assistant with the University of Chester.
Lucia is a primarily qualitative researcher interested in mental health and wellbeing and how they are impacted by environments and communities. In the future, Lucia would like to pursue a PhD that incorporates creative and participatory approaches and builds on their MSc dissertation investigating the mental health and post-migratory experiences of refugees and asylum seekers.
