  • University profile
  • Linkedin

Katie is a qualitative researcher and wellbeing scientist with a strong focus on nature-based interventions and their potential to support individual, community and planetary wellbeing. With a background in Psychology, she earned her undergraduate degree, master’s degree and PhD in the field at Swansea University before joining the University of Exeter as a Research Fellow.

Katie is interested in the potential of nature-based interventions to enhance individual, community and planetary wellbeing. Her work has explored how innovative, nature-based interventions such as surf therapy or ecotherapy programmes can be integrated into healthcare provision through collaborative partnerships. Her publications to date have highlighted the wellbeing benefits of these interventions, particularly for adults living with acquired brain injury, and have discussed how building inner resources may present a pathway to sustainability.
