Dr Sabine Pahl

Dr Sabine Pahl is Associate Professor in Psychology at Plymouth University and an affiliate member of the Centre.

As a Social Psychologist, Sabine’s work focuses on attitudes and behaviour change, particularly in the area of energy efficiency and protecting marine environments.

Her other applied work examines restorative effects of natural environments including the use of natural environments in healthcare. Sabine’s basic research is in social cognition, such as construal level and memory, and self-other biases such as unrealistic optimism.

Sabine has been involved in attracting research funding in excess of £7m since 2010 (approx. £2m as Principal Investigator) from EPSRC,ESRC, DEFRA, DECC, FP7 and H2020. Peer-review publications since 2010 include papers in the Journal of Environmental Psychology, Environment & Behavior, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin and Psychology & Health.
