Anna is a research fellow working on GroundsWell, a UK Prevention Research Partnership project that aims to maximise the benefits of urban green and blue spaces on public health and wellbeing.
Anna is interested in democratising decision-making of green and blue spaces and the processes which support communities to hold greater ownership and agency over their local environment.
Her expertise in participatory action research and arts-based methods reflect Anna’s commitment to transdisciplinary approaches to research, which support equitable partnership with non-academic researchers and dissemination beyond traditional academic spaces.
Anna completed her PhD at Liverpool John Moores University which initiated the first partnership project between the School of Art and Design and the Public Health Institute. During this time, Anna was a research assistant on the Walking with Purpose project, which explored the impact of prescribed physical activity on public health.
