Belinda Broughton

Project Manager

Belinda is the project manager for the Global Community Food for Human Nutrition and Planetary Health in Small Islands (Global CFaH) project.

This NIHR-funded initiative focuses on enhancing diet, nutrition, and food security in small island settings in the Caribbean, Pacific, and Philippines, promoting community-based food production using agroecological principles.

Belinda joined the University of Exeter in 2012 and previously was a project manager in the Strategic Delivery Unit, turning proposals into viable business cases. She also has managed two research projects: ADD-TREES, which developed AI-enhanced tools to support tree-planting decision-making among landowners and policy-makers to meet the UK’s Net Zero goals, and Smartline, a £9m project developing and utilising innovative technology to improve people’s health and wellbeing.

With a proven track record of leadership and operational delivery, Belinda is passionate about facilitating positive change.
