Dr Andrew Palmer

Research Fellow

  • a.palmer6@exeter.ac.uk

Dr Andrew Palmer is a Research Associate at the Environment and Human Health (ECEHH) with an interest in exploring nature, health and wellbeing through qualitative methodologies and participatory research. He holds an MRes in Sustainable Futures, completed at the ECEHH and a PhD from the University of Liverpool, which focused on inequalities in access and engagement to greenspaces amongst ethnic minority communities.

Andrew explores human–nature experiences and inequalities through interdisciplinary lenses, including geography, psychology, and sociology. Using qualitative methodologies, he co-produces research with public sector bodies like Natural England and Forest Research, alongside VCSEs. He is currently working on the NIHR-funded project Community Food for Human Nutrition and Planetary Health in Small Islands (Global CFaH).
