Valuing Play: Call for expressions of interest

Posted on 6th March 2014

The Centre’s Knowledge Exchange team are currently looking for organisations based in Cornwall to collaborate in the exploration of valuing children’s play.

Working closely with Dr Ian Frampton and Dr Tim Taylor, the research partnership will initially investigate the existing knowledge around the valuation of children’s play, before going on to plan further research in the area .

This call is part of the Centre’s In Residence programme, and the team are hoping to hear from organisations that hold a depth of expertise and experience in the subject.

The research partnership will focus on valuing the estimated benefits of children’s play, particularly those in terms of:

  • Physical health
  • Mental health and cognitive function
  • Monetary value – including valued health benefits such as “willingness to pay” and effects on house prices

As part of the collaboration, the In Residence Scheme will fund business time (at cost) for between 1 and 12 days.

Please note the deadline for submitting your Expression of Interest is Friday 28th March 2014

Applications are welcomed from individual businesses or groups of organisations, particular areas of interest can also be explored further.
