Professor Bart Jacobs on Guillain-Barré syndrome

11 Oct 2013 — 12:30pm

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare condition of the peripheral nervous system, occurring when the body’s immune system attacks part of the nervous system.

This serious syndrome’s exact cause is unknown, but many people develop the condition shortly after having a viral or bacterial infection.

Professor Bart Jacobs (Erasmus MC) is one of the world’s leading neurologists and an expert on Guillain–Barré syndrome.

In this 40 minute lecture he will consider the latest developments in our understanding of the condition, including new data about its aetiology.

This lecture is open to all, if you require any assistance in order to attend this event (such as an induction loop, disabled parking space, special hand outs etc) please do let us know.

There will also be a VC link to the W.K.Norman conference room, St Luke’s Campus, Exeter.
