This seminar series is aiming to develop our understanding of the competing factors that affect people’s ability to remain physically active as they grow older.
It will explore what is currently known about how these experiences can be shaped and shed light on how policy can help to enable an active and healthy lifestyle.
Led by the Centre in collaboration with several partner organisations, the series will bring together academics from diverse subject areas that include sociology, psychology, geography, sport and health sciences.
It will involve policy makers, health and social care practitioners, physical activity and sport providers, and those working within the voluntary sector, to explore specific issues relevant to the physical, social and cultural environments that can impact upon physical activity in older age.
Please visit the series’ microsite for full details of the programme and information on how to sign up for the next seminar.
