Dr Muinat Jaji is a PhD student investigating how the indoor environment can affect health.
With a particular focus on respiratory disease, Muinat’s research is examining how the prevalence of asthma and COPD is influenced by indoor air pollution from cooking and heating fuel – with special emphasis on the UK and industrialised nations.
She is also looking at how fuel poverty can cause dampness and breathing problems in the indoor environment.
Muinat’s first degree is in Medicine and Surgery. She also has a Master’s in Public Health and has been a Public Health Practitioner for over a decade.
The public health profession runs in Muinat’s family and she looks forward to more collaborations in the field, especially within respiratory public health.
